Day of deliberation, april 3, 2017
Below, you will find photos from Presentation and Deliberation Day and the individual "Resolutions" that each of our regional groups agreed upon.
The "working lunch sessions" led by Dr. Carmichael, Dr. Delay and Dr. Covert from the College of Charleston were meaningful and also impactful for our students and we can't thank them enough for giving their time and expertise!
The round-table discussions were spirited at times with each country vying for their own individual interests, but a true spirit of deliberation and debate won out and consideration was given to other countries in the decision making process.
This exercise proved that, when given the opportunity, students have an impressive ability to listen and communicate effectively in productive and respectful ways and even more importantly that collaboration and problem solving is possible - even when individual passions are involved!
Thank you to all of our table leaders, Dr. Bob Perkins (CofC), Mr. Mark Hladek (Wando), Ms. Addie Hoffman (CofC/Wando), Ms. Brianna Davis (SOA/CofC), Mrs. Kim Zerbst (SOA) and Mr. Chris Turpin (Wando) for helping these students work through to possible solutions in what has turned out to be a truly global and relevant topic in our world today.
